A third of companies in EUDR scope still have no deforestation commitment
Since 2024, 14 companies (3%) have backtracked on deforestation action -- including Nike.
While forest transparency and action is increasing ahead of the EU Deforestation Regulation’s implementation at the end of this year, 33% of companies in its scope still have no deforestation commitment.
EUDR is driving corporate action on deforestation, with more traceability and reporting mechanisms put in place by forest-dependent firms, according to Global Canopy’s 12th annual Forest 500 report.
