Climate adaptation lawmaking accelerates: more than 900 laws adopted in 35 countries
Countries recently agreed on a list of indicators to measure adaptation progress under the Global Goal on Adaptation.
More and more countries are placing climate adaptation at the heart of their legislation as the impacts of climate change accelerate.
A study of 35 countries around the world has found that 902 laws regarding climate change adaptation have been adopted to date – nearly half of which were introduced since 2020.
