Animal protein production is by far the largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture, and David Nickell is on a mission to reduce its negative impacts. He is Vice President of Sustainability and Business Solutions at dsm-firmenich – a multinational with €12+ billion in annual revenues that was created by the merger this year of Holland’s DSM and Switzerland’s Firmenich.

dsm-firmenich provides feed ingredients for just about every species raised for human consumption and Nickell, who leads sustainability at the animal nutrition branch of the company, thinks increased transparency and efficiency can deliver the improvements needed to feed the world in a sustainable manner.
