Efficiency measures could cut aviation emissions by half
Using the efficient aircraft they already have on routes they already fly would help airlines cut as much as 11% of emissions today.
Global aviation emissions could be cut by 50% to 75% through efficiency measures such as phasing out inefficient aircraft, switching to all-economy layouts and increasing passenger loads, according to a new study co-led by the University of Oxford.
