Former Decathlon CSO Anna Turrell on leaning into discomfort and finding rays of hope as a sustainability leader
“We have to be more honest with each other."
Anna Turrell left her role as Chief Sustainability Officer of Decathlon in February after around 20 months. Like so many other sustainability leaders, she left feeling exhausted, and after nearly 20 years working in sustainability she now sees herself at “an inflection point” in her career. She hopes that by using her voice others will feel encouraged to speak up and use theirs to help organisations “get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable” because “this feeling is here to stay, at least for a while”.
