‘Historic’: High Seas Treaty enters into force
NGOs are now working to make a target of protecting 30% of the ocean by 2030 legally binding.
The High Seas Treaty, which has been ratified by 83 jurisdictions to date, came into force over the weekend, paving the way for environmental conservation in the high seas.
