Markerstudy’s Group Head of Sustainable Business Strategy Tom Williams is tasked with assessing and mitigating sustainability risks within the insurance service provider’s supply chain – and identifying new commercial opportunities derived from the world’s sustainable transition.
As such, he is very aware of the existential threat climate change poses to his sector. “The risk is that customers can't be customers anymore: they become uninsurable, or premiums become too expensive to afford. To live in a world that is insurable, if the industry wants to kind of continue, we have to make sure that we mitigate those climate risks, and it needs to be addressed quickly,” he tells CSO Futures.
