Nordic industrial companies urged to increase demand for green steel

Steel buyers in the Nordic region could triple demand for low-carbon steel by applying existing best practices – but few are doing enough to decarbonise their steel supply chains, according to a new report.
NGO Just Shift has scored 15 major steel-buying companies in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, based on how aligned their steel procurement practices are with a 1.5ºC future. The group is only 23% aligned on average so far – yet this could rise to 83% if existing best practices were adopted.
