The CO2 utilisation market is expected to grow to US$69 billion – nearly five times its current value – by 2036, according to a new report.
Carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) is accelerating globally, but many projects are still focused on capturing CO2 from the atmosphere and storing it geologically for greater permanence. Meanwhile, carbon utilisation is often still overlooked: the market’s revenue amounted to US$14 billion in 2025, according to IDTechEx.
