Sustainability leaders report tighter access to funding in 2025

A recent survey of sustainability leaders in the UK points to tightening budgets and more difficulty in accessing finance in 2025.
Mitie’s latest Net Zero Navigator shows that nearly three quarters (71%) of UK sustainability leaders reported increasing difficulty in accessing finance for decarbonisation over the past year. In fact, almost half (49%) of the sustainability leaders surveyed say upfront costs are the main barrier to delivering their organisation’s decarbonisation plans, particularly as many move from low-hanging fruit to more ambitious initiatives.
