US withdraws from IPCC and other major climate organisations
"A strategic blunder that gives away American advantage for nothing in return."
After leaving the Paris Agreement in January 2025, the United States has now withdrawn from a dozen international organisations dedicated to climate and sustainability – including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
In an executive order this January, the Trump administration has directed all government agencies to withdraw from more than 60 international alliances deemed “contrary to the interests of the United States”.
