A former water sustainability programme manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS) has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the tech giant, alleging that its data centre water sustainability claims are misleading.

In a complaint filed with the Circuit Court of Arlington County last week, Nathan Barasa Wangusi, who led Amazon’s data centre water sustainability efforts from 2022 to 2024, alleges that the data disclosed by the company gives stakeholders a “false” impression of sustainability.
