“The Partnership is designed to move beyond fragmented, company-led deforestation initiatives."
Coffee companies have formed a new partnership to create an open map of coffee plantations informed by Airbus satellites, in their latest effort to reduce deforestation.
The new Coffee Canopy Partnership is led by coffee giant JDE Peet’s and brings together coffee traders and roasters such as Louis Dreyfus Company, Sucden, Neumann Kaffee Gruppe, Touton, Sucafina, and Tchibo, with the support of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
