Nearly three years after the publication of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) recommendations, corporate nature strategies are evolving from compliance exercises into something more strategic – though still far from transformational.

In the early days of TNFD, much of the momentum centred on disclosure: mapping dependencies, identifying risks and preparing for nature-related reporting. Today, practitioners say the conversation has shifted. For many companies, especially those exposed to agricultural supply chains, nature is increasingly being discussed not only by sustainability teams but in finance departments and boardrooms.
