Companies call for EU packaging regulation to stay on track as food and drinks sector requests delay
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation is due to be implemented in August.
IKEA, Veolia and many others have voiced their support for the “timely implementation” of the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), a few days after food and drinks firms requested a delay.
The new letter, published on June 3 and gathering signatures from more than 96 companies – including many plastics and recycling firms – and 31 recycling sector associations, warns that implementing the law within its established timeframe is essential to maintain investor confidence and support the continued development of recycling capacity in Europe.
