Bridgette McAdoo has been leading sustainability at global public and private companies since 2016, and even spent a year and a half at WWF – and for her, sustainability always starts with radical transparency.

When she was recruited as the first Chief Sustainability Officer of cloud-based contact centre firm Genesys in late 2020, one of her requirements was to align sustainability reporting to what is expected of public companies, even though Genesys is privately-owned.

“I personally did not want to have to hide our hands,” she tells CSO Futures. “If I'm going to build a groundswell within our employee base, within our customer base, within our communities, we have to earn that right. And part of earning that right is to be able to tell your story in a most transparent, fair and honest way.”
