Heathrow Airport aims for 5.6% SAF this year – above UK mandate
“Sustainable aviation fuel is not a hypothetical concept for the future."
Heathrow Airport has announced a new target to use 5.6% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in 2026 – 2% above the UK government’s SAF mandate.
The airport is aiming to get airlines to use more sustainable fuel by offering them financial incentives of a total of over £80 million, helping to bridge the cost gap between kerosene and SAF.
