Netflix's first Chief Sustainability Officer departs after nearly six years

Netflix Chief Sustainability Officer Emma Stewart has announced she is leaving the streaming giant after nearly six years in the role to join climate storytelling organisation Climate Spring.
In a post on LinkedIn, Stewart said she would join Climate Spring's leadership team while also becoming a senior adviser to the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance, Futerra's Solutions Union and climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe's Talking Climate Collaborative. Reflecting on her time at Netflix, she wrote: "There should come a time in every Chief Sustainability Officer's career when the role no longer needs to exist."
