Number of companies with SBTi-validated climate targets reaches 10,000

The Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is celebrating reaching 10,000 companies with validated climate targets – a sign that corporate climate action momentum is still building despite more political division over the past year.
More than 2,800 new companies had their targets validated in 2025 alone, ten years after SBTi validated its first company in 2015. Overall, the 10,000 companies that now have SBTi-approved targets represent more than 40% of global market capitalisation.
