Record renewable output helped the UK tip its power mix firmly towards clean energy last year, according to government statistics.

Renewable electricity generation in the UK climbed to a new high in 2025, with output from green technologies rising 6% to a record 152.5 TWh and supplying an unprecedented 52.5% of total power generation, the government said in its latest annual energy trends report.
