SBTi climate target setting up 40% last year, led by Asia

The number of companies with climate targets validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) increased by 40% in 2025, with particularly strong growth in Asia.
10,000 companies had validated targets by January 2026, and the rate of increase for SBTi net zero targets was even stronger, rising by 61%, SBTi states in its latest Trend Tracker.
