The European Council has formally adopted the Omnibus I package, ending months of uncertainty around sustainability reporting and supply chain due diligence obligations for companies.
Meeting in the General Affairs Council on Monday, member states signed off the final legal text of the so-called “simplification” package, concluding a contentious legislative process that has redrawn the scope of both the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
