GSMA Head of Climate Steven Moore on promoting ‘coopetition’ for sector decarbonisation

The GSMA was born out of necessity, as mobile operators across the globe grappled with the challenge of connecting networks across borders: since then, it has consistently proved the benefits of collaboration to tackle industry challenges – including climate change.

Steven Moore joined as Head of Climate in 2019 to deliver on a new GSMA board commitment to help move the telco industry towards net zero. Previously part of the sustainability team at BT, he quickly discovered the power of GSMA to promote “coopetition” among its members to accelerate the entire sector’s decarbonisation.
