The first conference on transitioning away from fossil fuels (TAFF) has closed in Colombia with no formal document but with renewed momentum to find collective, science-based pathways towards a decarbonised global economy.

The 57 countries present in Santa Marta this week, which represent roughly a third of global GDP, are committed to finding viable solutions to phase out fossil fuels from their economies – but recognise that they still have “structural dependencies to overcome”.
